Teen and drugs

Thanks to medical and drug research, there are thousands of drugs that help people. Antibiotics and vaccines have revolutionized the treatment of infections. Medicines can lower blood pressure, treat diabetes, and reduce the body rejection of new organs. Medicines can cure, slow, or prevent disease, helping us to lead healthier and happier lives. But there are also lots of illegal, harmful drugs that people take to help them feel good or have a good time. How do drugs work? Drugs are chemicals or substances that change the way our bodies work. When you put them into your body (often by swallowing, inhaling, or injecting them), drugs find their way into your bloodstream and are transported to parts of your body, such as your brain. In the brain, drugs may intensify or dull your senses, alter your sense of alertness, and sometimes decrease physical pain. A drug may be helpful or harmful. The effects of drugs can vary depending upon the kind of drug taken, how much is taken, how often it is used, how quickly it gets to the brain, and what other drugs, food, or substances are taken at the same time. Effects can also vary based on the differences in body size, shape, and chemistry. Although substances can feel good at first, they can ultimately do a lot of harm to the body and brain. Drinking alcohol, smoking tobacco, taking illegal drugs, and sniffing glue can all cause serious damage to the human body. Some drugs severely impair a person ability to make healthy choices and decisions. Teens who drink, for example, are more likely to get involved in dangerous situations, such as driving under the influence or having unprotected sex. Why People Take Drugs? And just as there are many kinds of drugs available, there are as many reasons for trying them or starting to use them regularly. People take drugs just for the pleasure they believe they can bring. Often it is because someone tried to convince them that drugs would make them feel good or that they'd have a better time if they took them. Some teens believe drugs will help them think better, be more popular, stay more active, or become better athletes. Others are simply curious and figure one try will not hurt. Others want to fit in. A few use drugs to gain attention from their parents. Many teens use drugs because they're depressed or think drugs will help them escape their problems. The truth is, drugs do not solve problems, it simply hide feelings and problems. When a drug wears off, the feelings and problems remain, or become worse. Drugs can ruin every aspect of a person life. So everybody’s do not ever try to do this one if you want to still alive.

Electronic Library

In discussing the electronic library various terms have been used almost interchangeably: the electronic library, the virtual library and the digital library. The electronic library is part of a wider networked environment which offers access to a wide range of materials including internal management information about the host institution and its working environment. It is an organized environment yet paradoxically facilitates extremely anarchic patterns of use. User understanding or lack of it will necessarily influence judgments about its effectiveness. Users may view it as just a collection of computers in a room or as a collection of software packages and networked services which have no essential link with electronic information. It gives virtual access to book and journal collection and database. Some of data contained in these services may be bibliographical control data or metadata, rather than full text. Sources might include bibliographic database as well as full text sources and paper sources which are, at least, ‘virtually’ accessed through the OPAC. It augments the traditional materials provided by library service with electronic to datasets and images such as video clips which might be used for educational purposes. The service is less building and direct access dependent than the traditional library. The library is the interface to electronic data providing remote access including 24 hour access. Navigational aids and resources are usually provided in the form of ‘hot linked’ web pages. The electronic library redefines the concept of the user and introduces the idea of the ‘virtual visitor’ or user. The user is no longer someone who ‘comes in’ and observes set opening hours. There is no defined service period. Users may be accessing the electronic library remotely from home or work and may be seen only infrequently by librarians. Skill levels of users are very variable and may not necessarily be defined by traditional stakeholder groups. It might be necessary to redefine stakeholder groups based on skill levels. Older people or non traditional students who conventionally have lower IT skills levels than full time students. There are likely to be ‘regular’ among the user group such as overseas students in higher education or enthusiastic school children in public libraries.

Automatically without thinking!

I am studying in English faculty now. On this semester I think I have a few progress in reading skill, but it is not make me proud because many of my friends get smart now so it is become my challenge to be more better I do not want them defeat me. Perhaps I have to add my effort to increase my competence. I know on internet always available the site that always supports education with free learning and one of them is “E-Compusoft Online English Training” this site was published by MR.TEGUH. Nowadays I am listening it before going to sleep, very amazing with a simple way he brings us become a speaker in good pronunciation, not professional but that can make sure if English is not difficult and when we try to speak in English sometimes we can ignore the rule of grammar because basically language is a means of communication and the important things that they understood about what we have told them. Even thought we must using body language to make it clearly and easy. I believe that there is no mistake in language when we communicate to somebody. What is appear only usual or unusual. And what we have to do is only speak over and over automatically without thinking. I hope I can do that as soon. To achieve that goal, I must overlap all my struggles especially in my campus. One of them is kill my shy, for this time I still feel that. For example when I get lunch in the canteen with my friends also, it is really hard to speak even just only one word. I had once tried to do that but suddenly the people who sat close with my table surrounding and look at me like the strange boy. What the hell…! I did not do such thing I just try to practice my competence in speaking. But now I do not care with those people that always think me a strange boy because I want get something here in my university and I will invite my friends in class to do the same thing like me. I know it will be hard to force what I want to them. But I am care, they must get something here. At least one of the fourth skills that English program offer and recommend for us, perhaps in this way I can improve my progress and they also no matter how difficult it just speak over, over and over until automatically without thinking. If we must make a rule like give punishment by pay one thousand because do the mistake because speaking in Indonesian language I will do that. Not only in the class but in outside too, because I am sure if there is a will there is a gain.

My best friend Adul

Hello, happy learning my friends! This is my first note in the semester five, so I have to say something about myself. Sometimes it is hard to introduce yourself because you know yourself so well that you do not know where to start. Let me give a try to see what kind of image you have about me through my self-description. I hope that my impression about myself and your impression about me are not so different. Here it goes. I am a person who is positive about every aspect of life. There are so many things I like to do, to see, and to experience. I like to read, I like to write, I like to think, I like to dream, I did not like too much talk, and I like to listen. I like to see the sunrise in the morning, I like to see the moonlight at night, and I like to feel the music flowing on my face. I like to look at the clouds in the sky with a blank mind, I like to do thought experiment when I cannot sleep in the middle of the night. I like flowers, rain in the night, and snow in mountain even it was only on television. I like to sleep early, I like to get up late, I like to be alone, and I like to be surrounded by people. I love my country, I like the beautiful lake in Cifor, and I like delicious food and comfortable shoes. I like good books and romantic movies. I like the land and the nature, I like people. And, I like to laugh. I always wanted to be a great singer, like Robbie Williams, or like Ronan Keating. They have influenced millions of people through their song. I also wanted to be a great lecturer like Professor Didi. Who could make peoples comfort. But I am just someone who does some learning, and some writing. But my dream is still alive. You know what? Yes, I want to become an English teacher and be a great merchant. I am the lucky man because I have a big family that always support me in everything. There are seventh people in my family: a father, a mother, three elder brothers and three elder sisters. We started our family in Jakarta, we then moved to Bogor, the most exciting city in west java. But now we lived in Cikarawang, the most beautiful village in Bogor. We all love Cikarawang. And the important thing I have so many of friends on my village, and one of them became my best friend. His name is Adul. He always helps me when I got trouble and of course I have to do the same thing like him even though I have to get hurt. I did not know why he so carefully to me and sometimes I felt that he likes my brothers. But now everything was changing and world is around, because I have move to Ciampea and went far on his life. I know it is hard but life must go on, I believe that he can made his dream come true because we have the same dream. Be an English teacher or the great merchant. Friend trust me, I would never forget you. Because of you I can survive here and my love would never die for you.

WHY SHOULD WE BRUSH OUR TEETH?

NAME : NURHASAN (08211210078)

WHY SHOULD WE BRUSH OUR TEETH?
We brush our teeth because we know that if we do not bits of food will collect in the gaps between our teeth. The food will go bad and start to smell. Our teeth will start to darken in color, and eventually they will also go bad. At some point, we will have no teeth left. This process can be explained biologically as follows. Our teeth naturally become coated with a substance called plaque, which contains bacteria. When these bacteria come into contact with sugars, they convert the sugar into acids such as lactic acid. The acids attack the enamel of your teeth and make holes in it. Bacteria enter through these holes and attack the soft insides of your teeth. Very soon you have no teeth left. To stop your teeth from decaying, you have to remove the plaque as often as possible. This means cleaning your teeth every night and every morning. Many people clean their teeth with toothbrush and toothpaste. Toothpaste contains a polishing agent such as chalk and a small amount of a cleaning agent such as sodium lauryl sulphate. These are usually blended with a flavouring, such as peppermint, and a sweetener. In addition, a preservative is added to stop the toothpaste from going bad. It is also necessary to add another ingredient to keep the toothpaste from drying out. So toothpaste is a mixture of chalk and soap. Dental scientists claim that a small amount of fluoride can reduce the chance of decay. Fluoride strengthens the enamel and helps it to fight off the acid attack.

BEES
Bees are useful insect. There are about 20,000 kinds of bees, but only honey bees make honey. Honeybees live in groups called colonies. Each colony has one female queen bee, tens of thousands of workers bees, and a few hundred males, or drones. Honeybees live in hives. Inside their hive, the bees make a honeycomb of wax. The honey-comb is a kind of bee apartment building, full of six-sided rooms in which the bees raise young and store food. The queen bee lays thousand of eggs. Worm like larva hatch from the eggs, each larva becomes a pupa, which looks partly like a larva and partly like an adult bee. The pupa then becomes an adult bee. Worker bees feed the young, clean and guard the hive, and fly to and from flowers. They collect tiny grains of pollen and a sweet liquid called nectar for food. The pollen is food for young bees. Worker bees use the nectar to make honey. Without bees bringing pollen from flower to flower, many plants could not make seeds. Queen bees and worker bees have stings. Workers use their stings to defend themselves and their hive. A queen uses their stings to kill other queens. Most other kinds of bees live alone instead of in a colony. These bees make tunnels in wood or in the ground. The queen makes her own nest. People admire bees for their busy ways. People called beekeepers keep bees for honey and for the beeswax the bees use to build their honeycombs.

THE JAKARTA

TOPIC :How to survive in the city

THE JAKARTA

Since economic crisis knock down Indonesian country, there are many unemployment’s everywhere in every city especially in Jakarta. To make survive they have to find creatively or used their some skill to get a money. There are many ways such as open the garage or doing business. You can see all around in the way city, outside on the road is chockablock by PKL (five foot trader). They sell several of things like food and drink accessories for bikers like helmet, jacket, until multifarious of fruits. But for some of them who have individual skill, they try to open a small garage on the outside of road. The governments have to appreciate they effort. Because they still have aware not to make a crime. I still do not understand with people who leave their village and then come to the city finding their life but without having something skill or ability. So they just try fortune with job as manual labor and moreover become a panhandler, it is very dishonor. What there are something special if we live in the city? Many people have a hunch that after back from living there, they to be a rich man. Maybe this is the wrong opinion what make somebody brave and determined to go and leave their live in the village by reason of getting a better life. So I hope people try to understand now if the life in the city is very hard and not easy.
